Smoothies are an easy, fantastic way of getting your greens in, especially if you’re not too keen on their taste! The sweetness from the fruit and the creaminess from the “mylk” masks the bitter taste of the greens and leaves you with a sweet, delicious drink thats super healthy and full of vitamins and minerals – Trust me on this there is no “dirt” taste.
This smoothie is different from any ordinary smoothie due to the addition of one ingredient, frozen peas. Yes, I know you’re probably thinking, “are you serious?” but bear with me! It had never even crossed my mind to add peas to green smoothies until I came across a Jenny Mustard video where she did it and I immediately thought, what a great idea! I have to try it! The peas add fibre and protein as well as vitamin K, manganese, thiamin, iron, zinc and many more essential nutrients. You cannot taste them in all- In fact because they are put in frozen they actually give the smoothie a great texture. This is fantastic way to get an extra serve of vegetables into your daily diet if you are struggling, and also a great way to get your little ones to eat some more greens! Such a simple and easy way to add more nutrients to your diet.
